GTA 6 Early Gameplay Videos: Download and Watch the Leaked Footage
The extensive leaks coincide with earlier reports about GTA VI that featured clips of a female playable character. For example, Bloomberg claimed earlier this year that GTA VI (inspired by Bonnie and Clyde) would have two female characters.
The leaked videos are currently being shared on numerous communities: Reddit, YouTube and Twitter. In one of the videos, a playable female character named Lucia is seen robbing a restaurant and holding hostages.

A user going by teapotuberhacker posted a zip file to GTAForums, saying "Here are 90 footage/clips from GTA 6. Its possible i could leak more data soon, GTA 5 and 6 source code and assets, GTA 6 testing build. [sp]"
The source of the videos is currently unconfirmed, but may well have been the result of a hack. Teapotuberhacker claims they were downloaded directly from Rockstar's internal Slack groups. We will not be linking to the videos in this article.
An untitled Grand Theft Auto game[a] is in development by Rockstar Games. It is due to be the eighth main Grand Theft Auto game, following Grand Theft Auto V (2013), and the sixteenth instalment overall. Following years of speculation and leaks, Rockstar confirmed in February 2022 that the game is in development. Footage from unfinished versions was leaked online in September in what was described as one of the biggest leaks in the history of the video game industry.
On 18 September 2022, 90 videos showing 50 minutes of work-in-progress game footage were published on GTAForums by a user known as "teapotuberhacker".[3][c] Schreier confirmed with sources at Rockstar that the footage was genuine,[26] and The Guardian reported it was from several stages of development,[3] with some videos about a year old.[1] The footage reveals a modern-day Vice City setting, contains animation tests, gameplay tests, level layouts, and conversations between characters, and depicts the player characters, Jason and Lucia, entering a strip club and robbing a diner.[1][27] The hacker claimed to be behind the Uber security breach from the earlier week.[26][28] They claimed to have downloaded the files directly from Rockstar's internal Slack groups,[29] and they possessed source code, assets, and internal builds of both the new game and Grand Theft Auto V, which they threatened to publish.[26]
Take-Two responded by submitting takedowns of videos showing or discussing the leaks hosted on YouTube under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act,[3][30] and contacted moderators of GTAForums and Reddit to remove access.[31] The hacker wrote they were "looking to negotiate a deal" with Rockstar or Take-Two.[32] Several journalists described the event as one of the biggest leaks in video game history;[33][34][35] Schreier called it "a nightmare for Rockstar Games" which could limit remote work flexibility for employees.[2][36] Jefferies analyst Andrew Uerkwitz called it a "PR disaster" that could potentially delay the game and diminish staff morale, but was unlikely to impact reception or sales.[37][38] The Guardian noted the leaked footage was being widely criticised "by ill-informed users" due to its quality, despite not being representative of the final product.[3] Some users erroneously claimed graphics and art assets are finalised early in game development. In solidarity, several industry developers shared work-in-progress footage of their games[39][40][41] and some, including Cliff Bleszinski, Neil Druckmann, Rami Ismail, and Alanah Pearce, offered their sympathies to Rockstar.[1][3][42]
On 19 September, Rockstar confirmed the leak to be a "network intrusion" and lamented how the game was first demonstrated but did not anticipate long-term effects on development.[43] Rockstar disabled comments and replies on their social media accounts in the days following the leak.[25] Take-Two added that steps had been taken "to isolate and contain this incident".[37] The company's share price dropped by more than six per cent in pre-market trading that day,[37][38] but recovered during regular trading hours following Take-Two's statement.[44] Uber acknowledged the potential links to their security breach and noted they were working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the United States Department of Justice. They believed the hacker was affiliated with the group Lapsus$, which is thought to have breached companies such as Microsoft, Nvidia, and Samsung over the preceding year.[45][46] In November, Zelnick said no material assets appeared to have been taken and the incident caused the companies to become more vigilant with cybersecurity.[47] In February 2023, he reiterated the leak had impacted staff emotionally but business remained unaffected.[48]
Rockstar Games recently experienced a network intrusion in which an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from its systems, including early development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto. Current Rockstar Games services are unaffected. We have already taken steps to isolate and contain this incident.

Multiple videos have been removed from YouTube at the request of Take-Two, confirming the legitimacy of the substantial leak. Take-Two has also reportedly ordered two of the largest online Grand Theft Auto communities to take down any links to the GTA 6 footage.
After forum members showed disbelief that the hack was real, the threat actor claimed he was behind the recent cyberattack on Uber and leaked screenshots of source code from both Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto 6 as further proof.
Rockstar games have not released a statement or responded to our email about the attack at this time. However, Bloomberg's Jason Schreier confirmed the leak was valid after speaking to sources at Rockstar.
"This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Take 2 Interactive," reads a copyright claim by Take 2 Interactive, the owner of Rockstar Games. These takedown demands lend further validity to the fact that the leaked GTA 6 videos are real.
"We recently suffered a network intrusion in which an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto. At this time, we do not anticipate any disruption to our live game services nor any long-term effect on the development of our ongoing projects.

As reported by GamesRadar, two clips of Diablo 4 gameplay began circulating on gaming forums on Sep. 19. Both videos feature the Barbarian class and have the words "private test build" overlaid on top, indicating the version was not intended to be seen by the public. The first five-minute clip shows off the in-game cosmetics shop, user interface and the wares of various merchants. Some combat is also shown, with the hero battling through swathes of zombies and undead mages. The second clip is a staggering 38 minutes and showcases an unfinished dungeon full of missing textures and polygons. It features more combat, along with various gearing and itemization menus.
Both clips received hundreds of downloads and continue circulating online despite numerous copyright claims by Activision-Blizzard. The leak coincided with a new developer update video shared by the company in which it announced a Diablo 4 End Game Beta. The playtest will allow select long-time franchise fans to experience the game's closing chapters to prevent the spoiling of Diablo 4's narrative before its release. Various other closed trials took place earlier this year, including a Diablo 4 friends-and-family alpha test which was reportedly well-received.
Earlier this week, Rockstar Games also experienced a considerable leak in which numerous videos of Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay appeared online. The clips showed a pre-build version of GTA6 and confirmed previously rumored details such as a Vice City setting and male and female protagonists. Rockstar addressed the leak, saying it was "extremely disappointed" that Grand Theft Auto 6 had been shared this way, though the company confirmed that the leak would not delay production.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is one of the most eagerly anticipated games in development right now. The long-awaited sequel to Grand Theft Auto V has been discussed for years, and the rumors never stop. Rockstar Games has been silent on any information about the GTA 6 game, especially after the GTA 6 leak in September 2022.
While some suggest that the leaked footage is from an older build, a report by The Verge noted that the game is running on RTX 3060Ti and RTX 3080, indicating that the build is not older than two years. Also, a Bloomberg reporter has confirmed with Rockstar sources that the footage is indeed authentic.
Gamers have long been asking for GTA 6 updates with millions of people flooding Rockstar as well as Take-Two Interactive's social media pages with comments. While official details about Rockstar's next AAA title have been scarce, we have some ideas about what the game could offer.
